Standing behind every project

We do not consider a job done until you are genuinely satisfied

Twenty years on the Eastside and Seattle has taught us one thing: the work only matters if the homeowner is happy. Here is exactly what we commit to on every project.

โœ“ We show up when we say we will
โœ“ One-year workmanship guarantee
โœ“ Owner-operated since 2006
โœ“ Licensed and insured
The Urban Elements commitment

Four things you can count on, every time

One-year workmanship guarantee

All labor Urban Elements performs carries a full one-year workmanship guarantee. If something we built, installed, or repaired fails due to our work, we come back and make it right at no charge โ€” no debate, no invoice.

This applies to every project: handyman repairs, carpentry, built-ins, decks, smart home installs, sauna builds, and light remodels.

Transparent pricing โ€” no surprises

Our standard rate is $150 per hour with a two-hour minimum on house calls, plus materials and tax. Specialty projects get a written estimate before any work begins. You approve the scope and cost before we pick up a tool.

No hidden fees, no trip charges, no upselling work you did not ask for. The invoice matches what we quoted โ€” every time.

Licensed, bonded and insured

Urban Elements carries full general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage on every job. We are licensed and bonded in the state of Washington.

This protects your home, your property, and you โ€” not just us. We are happy to provide proof of insurance before any project begins.

Satisfaction is not negotiable

If you're not satisfied with the outcome of our work, we'll return to address it at no additional charge. We have never walked away from a client concern without resolving it โ€” and we do not intend to start.

In the unlikely event we cannot resolve a concern, we'll discuss a fair credit or partial refund. Your satisfaction is not a checkbox โ€” it's the whole point.

Owner-operated accountability

You are talking to the people who do the work

When Kris Vandenberge shows up at your home, he is the owner โ€” not a subcontractor dispatched through an app. Kylie Hansen handles every client relationship personally. There is no franchise layer between you and the people responsible for your project.

That accountability is built into every interaction. When something needs to be made right, you don't call a customer service line โ€” you call Kris or Kylie directly. That is how we have built our reputation on the Eastside and Seattle and Seattle for 20 years, and it's how we intend to keep it.

Meet Kris and Kylie

"What I appreciate most is that the final bill matched the estimate. No surprises, no extras tacked on at the end. That kind of honesty is genuinely rare in home services."

If something is not right

Here is exactly what happens

1

Tell us directly

Call or text Kris or Kylie. We'll listen without defensiveness and ask what it would take to make it right. Most concerns are resolved in a single follow-up visit at no charge.

2

We schedule a return visit

If any work did not hold or did not turn out the way you expected, we come back promptly โ€” within the one-year workmanship window โ€” and correct it at no cost to you.

3

If we still cannot resolve it

In the rare event a concern genuinely cannot be resolved through a return visit, we'll have an honest conversation about a fair credit or partial refund. We have no interest in keeping money we did not earn.

Common questions

Quick answers about our guarantee

Does the one-year guarantee cover materials too?

The guarantee covers workmanship โ€” meaning how the work was done. Materials are covered by their manufacturers' warranties. When we install a fixture or appliance, we can help you navigate a warranty claim if the product itself fails.

What if I just did not like the result โ€” not a defect, but a preference?

We take this seriously. If we did not build what you asked for, we make it right. If the scope changed mid-project or preferences evolved, we'll have a straightforward conversation about what is reasonable and find a path forward.

Do you carry proof of insurance?

Yes. We are happy to provide a certificate of insurance before work begins on any project. Just ask when you book.

What if a project is larger than one visit?

For multi-day or multi-phase projects, we provide written estimates with a clear breakdown of scope, timeline, and cost. Change orders are documented and approved before any additional work happens.

Ready to work with a team you can trust?

Tell us about your home and what needs attention. We'll follow up with next steps and a clear, written scope before anything begins.
